At your private reveal, we consider which portraits belong together, the scale that suits your space, and whether your collection is best expressed through wall portraits, an heirloom album or both.
You receive guidance throughout the selection, so the finished work feels at home in the life you have built.
You bring yourself. I guide the portrait.
You do not need to arrive knowing your best angle, how to pose or what to do with your hands.
That is part of my work.
Before your sitting, we discuss the portraits you are drawn to, wardrobe and the people who will be photographed. During the sitting, I guide placement, posture, movement and expression, paying attention to both the composition and the person within it.
There is room to settle in, ask questions and become comfortable.
You can be fully present with the people beside you while I attend to the portrait.

Design & Planning
We plan wardrobe, setting and the character of your portraits. We also begin considering where the finished artwork might live.

Your Portrait Sitting
A personally directed sitting, with guidance throughout. The light, composition and pace are shaped around the portraits we are creating.

Your Private Reveal
See your portraits and choose the images you want to own. Together, we consider your collection, artwork sizes and presentation.

Your Finished Artwork
Your selected portraits move into production. Materials, framing, album details and delivery arrangements are confirmed with your order.

I am Temi, a portrait artist based in Hamilton, Ontario.
I pay attention to how a person holds herself. The space between family members. A hand resting on a shoulder. The expression that appears when someone stops trying to give the camera what they think it wants.
Those details shape how I direct and compose a portrait.
My role is to bring artistic judgment and clear guidance to something deeply personal: the way you and the people you love are represented.
I want you to recognise yourself in the finished work and to feel that it deserves its place on your wall.

Where is TEMI JOHNSON based?
TEMI JOHNSON is based in Hamilton, Ontario, serving portrait clients across Southern Ontario, including Burlington, Oakville, Mississauga, Toronto and Niagara. The location of your sitting is confirmed when your commission is planned.
What kinds of portrait photography do you offer?
I specialise in maternity portraits, women’s portraiture and family and multigenerational portraits. Each commission includes personal planning and direction, with finished wall artwork and heirloom albums in mind.
Do I need to know how to pose?
No. I guide posture, placement, expression and movement throughout your sitting. You do not need modelling experience or a practised camera smile.
Can we include grandparents or several generations?
Yes. Family and legacy commissions can bring multiple generations together. We discuss who will attend and the combinations you would like photographed during planning.
What should we wear?
We plan wardrobe before your sitting, considering colour, texture, fit and how everyone’s clothing will work together. You will have guidance on what to prepare and bring.
How do we choose our portraits?
At your private reveal, you review your portraits and select the images you want to purchase. I guide you through the collection and help you consider artwork size, presentation and placement.
What should I wear?
You can choose from the client closet, which runs from small through 1X and 2X and beyond, bring your own pieces, or mix both. Hair and makeup is part of your sitting.
How much does a commission cost?
Your investment depends on the artwork and collection you choose. During our initial conversation, we discuss your ideas and explain the collection options, minimum investment and booking retainer. You receive the details before deciding whether to reserve.
